Three days - 400 km Cycling.

Here are three days of cycling all together result of 400 km. the first day I reached KGF, Kolar. The second day I reached to Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Last day reached Ramnagara, Karnataka.
Let's go in detail,

Day 1 (17-Feb-2016): Jeevanbheemanagar to KGF, Kolar.

On 16th February, I fixed my cycle's old tire with the new one and some fittings all done. I slept early on 16th Feb expecting to get up early on 17th. As planned, I woke up at 3 AM had fresh and took a bath. I belong to Hindu family so planned to visit a temple near KGF and later to KGF.

As planned earlier, I left home at 4 AM. About morning journey, was awesome cold climate, no traffic beautiful views of garden city Bengaluru and also Kolar.

When I was near to Bangarpet a pretty old guy noticed me, he was traveling on a bike. He slow down to my speed and asked me so politely "where u off to?" & "Where are from?" not in the English language!, used Kannada only. I told about my plan going to visit KGF, he replied with smile "Yeah good physical exercise for health". He finally greeted by calling for a coffee. I reached temple Sri Kotilingeshwara temple at 9.45 AM via Kolar, Bangarpet total 91 km far from Jeevabheemanagar (Home).

The main attraction of this peaceful retreat, which is surrounded by plush greenery, is a huge Shivalinga. Measuring 108 ft (33 m), this shivalinga is tallest of its kind in the world and accompanying it is a 35 ft (11 m) tall Basava, surrounded by lakhs of small shivalingas spread over an area of 15 acres (61,000 m2). So far, around 100 lakh shivalingas have been installed. The entire project involves the installation of one crore shivalingas of various sizes, hence the name ‘Kotilingeshwara’. After a visit to the temple later I reached KGF, had breakfast and a tender coconut.

At this point time was 11 AM, then hard cycling started in the sunny day. Almost skin burning feeling so hot day, but I did not stop peddling. Had 3 liters of water two more tender coconuts to thirsty. On the way back to home had lunch at one of  the daba near the highway. At the end, I reached home at 4.45 PM almost 200 km duration of 12 hours of cycling ride.

Day 2 (18-Feb-2016): Jeevanbheemanagara to Hosur.

Above Figure: - Border between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu

Is the short day means, I woke up at 12.15 PM. The plan was to visit Krishnagiri but reached Hosur, Tamil Nadu. which is 42 km far from my home. Still I like to touch 50 km later I did. So second day I satisfied with 100 km of the cycle ride.

Day 3 (19-Feb-2016): Jeevanbheemanagara to Ramanagara.

The third day started cycling at 7 AM, moving towards Mandya pretty bad plan, realized it was the worst plan by looking at traffic at this route. Reached outskirts of Ramnagara via Bidadi approximately 50 km from Jeevanbheemanagar(Home). While getting back in the same way, I visited Big Banyan tree (Dodda Aladha Mara).

Is a giant 400-year-old Banyan tree (Ficus bengalensis), located in the village of Kettohalli in the Bangalore Urban district of Karnataka, India. This single plant covers 3 acres (12,000 m2) and is one of the largest of its kind. In the 2000s, the main root of the tree succumbed to natural disease, and thus the tree now looks like many different trees. So finally third day totally 100 km.

Summary of these three days - 400 km, 27 Hours, 3 days.

Planning Project 600

After a successful a century ride. I am not at rest. Planning for big ride, a 600km within three days!. I hope this is crazy to say, this plan is about a cycling ride of 600 km in three days. Planning gives us back good results. So this post only about planning. I am feeling now is it possible 600 km?. I was discussing with my friends regarding this plan, one of them asked why you going for a ride like such far. The answer is just it's my passion and me very much passionate about travelling.
After reaching Chikkaballapura in a previous ride, personally visited another district in Karnataka from Bengaluru. After that ride, I was completely  involved in what will be next ride? how special will be, what should be agenda. Myself found to answer a step forward. Planned to reach all districts in Karnataka by means of cycling. And also cities of neighbour state's districts. As if now planning to reach all districts near to Bengaluru. So finally selected three districts,

1.Kolar.

2.Krishnagiri.

3.Mandya.

For pocket-friendly cycling ride, I chose to ride every day from JeevanBhimaNagar to respected places and getting back in same way. Let's look into  maps and some numbers.

1. Jeevanbhimanagar, Bengaluru to Kolar --> 91.6km

2.Jeevanbhimanagar, Bengaluru to Krishnagiri --> 91.5km

3. Jeevanbhimanagar, Bengaluru to Mandya --> 107km

A Century Ride

For two years before I went cycling, which is pretty long and that is my first long drive, about 80km. Which started from Holehonnur (My native) nothing but Shimoga rural to Shanthisagara 40km and getting back in the same way so a total of 80km. And after a long gap, I brought new bicycle respect to my budget, which is BSA I bike normal cycle. Started wondering around Bengaluru city limits.

New definition for my cycling ride started. Wandered around Vidhana Soudha, Magadi area and Rajajinagar. After year planned for the 80km ride (went to near airport via NH7, not actually to the airport).

Then today I stretched my limits. I took the challenge to reach 100 km. so choose again the same route. But crossed the previous distance. So planned for 100 km. Century cycling ride came to my mind.
I started my journey at 4.11 AM in the cold atmosphere with a target to reach 50 km one side. pedalling towards NH7 from Jeevanbhimanagar. the climate is an awesome fog everywhere so chilled atmosphere. Fresh breeze with long target peddling  reached Hebbal via MG road. Actually, I was planning for Breakfast while riding.  So chosen Hotel near Devanahalli. Around 40 km far from Jeevanbhimanagr. While that time my mind thinking for a pit stop for relaxing. At very first previous day planned to take a rest at every an hour. Morning climates, so comfort to travel long distance so I changed my plan without any relax finally I reached hotel near Devanahalli, but I did not take any rest thought to reach longer without a single stop 40 km far my starting I do not spot any place to reach later found a board of Chikkaballapura which is 28 km far from that time(5.30 AM). So I selected place at that time to Chikkaballapura. Finally reached  Chikkaballapura at 7.45 AM.

Finally reached  Chikkaballapura at 7.45 AM. Which is almost 70 km far from Jeevanbhimanagar.

Returned to Jeevanbhimanagar in the same way I travelled. Had breakfast near Devanhalli at 10.30AM, finally reached back home at 12.55PM. All together I traveled 140 km in the duration of 8 hours time with Avg. the speed of 15 kmph. Memorable journey of my life.
